About NoSpike
Last updated
NoSpike is a route optimizer for PC games, built and run from Denmark. It measures your own connection against routes through its own relays in Europe, and carries your game only when one of those routes is the better one.
What NoSpike is
A Windows app, for Windows 10 and 11. When you play a game it supports, it measures the way your internet provider takes to the game's server and the ways through NoSpike's relays, side by side. If a relay route is faster or steadier, the game's traffic goes that way, and only the game's: your browser, your downloads and everything else stay on your own connection. If your own connection is the fastest, the app says "Direct is fastest" and routes nothing.
Around that, the app sets Windows up for the game while it runs, gives each game its own picture settings, and can show your ping and frame rate in a small window over the game. The start page shows each of them.
Who runs it
NoSpike is made and operated from Denmark by a small team: the people who write the app also run the relays, answer the support mail and write the guides on this site. NoSpike isn't affiliated with any game publisher.
Where the relays are
The relays are NoSpike's own: servers it rents in data centres in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London, Madrid and Sweden, close to where the big games host their European servers. The start page lists them with their status right now.
Because they're all in Europe, NoSpike helps with game servers in and near Europe. From elsewhere, or to servers far away, a European relay rarely helps, and the app would show you that. A relay forwards only to the game servers it has been given: it can't be used to reach the rest of the internet, by you or by anyone else.
What we won't claim
- No promised numbers. Whether a relay route beats your own depends on your provider, where you live and the game's server. The app measures both and shows both; nothing on this site promises a figure.
- Betas are marked. A verified game's servers come from the publisher's own data. A beta game's servers are still being mapped, so NoSpike may not carry all of a match yet, and the game's page says so.
- An unrouted match is shown as one. On a server NoSpike doesn't route, the app shows your own ping to that server, never another server's figure in its place.
- Demo figures are labelled. The pictures of the app on this site come from its demo: they show what the app looks like, not a measurement of anyone's connection.
What it leaves alone
NoSpike never reads or changes a game's files or memory, and nothing is injected into a game. Routing changes where the game's packets go; the rest works on Windows and your screen, around the game. Your settings and your History stay on your PC. What NoSpike does know about you is answered on the start page.
How it's paid for
By the people who use it: one paid plan, monthly or annually, with no ads and nothing sold about its players. The prices are on the start page.
